"Brandon was very welcoming as I walked into the studio. He immediately started the demo of the piece i was going to be working on, and
he explained everything clearly and made sure I understood before I jumped in. My first piece was a success!  I think he's a great teacher, and i will definitely be a returning customer"

Monumental Glass Cremation Series

Cherish your loved one for a lifetime by preserving their ashes in a beautiful piece of glass art.

Years ago, a friend asked if we could make something in glass using the ashes of their beloved family pet. We made several glass marbles so that each family member could treasure him for a lifetime. Many years and hundreds of pieces later, we have expanded our Monumental Glass services to include an even wider variety of glass designs. Ashes can be combined with any glass color or custom design that we offer, as we have created a special technique to apply the ashes in glass to any of our handmade glass designs. Please see the gallery below for images of past creations.

If you would like more information about pricing on a custom design, just give us a call at (215)-534-2451.

How the Cremains Are Handled

Our glass artists handle all cremains with respect and care. We are aware that these ashes are the final pieces of a family member, friend, or pet, and we treat them as if they were our own.

How to Order

What You Do: Take a tablespoon of ashes, package them into a secure container, and mail them to the address below. Then place an order from our online store detailing the style, size, and color combination you feel would best capture the essence of your loved one.

What We Do: As soon as we receive the ashes, we will begin crafting your keepsake by encapsulating the cremains within molten glass, transforming their ashes into art. As the ashes and glass mix, they will create different patterns and designs, ensuring that each piece will be entirely unique.

Please send your ashes to: Monumental Glass, 243 Harvey Ave., Doylestown, PA 18901

Custom Design

Customization is our specialty. From angels to dragons, hearts to starfish, we can build a piece of decorative glass specifically designed for you. We have many options for each of our intricate glass making processes: we can design the piece for you, you can come up with your own design, or you can work with a member of our highly skilled design team to create your dream piece of glass art. We can go through the whole sketch and design process or we can just wing it and have fun. Its up to you! We can customize based on colors, shapes, initials, birthdays—pretty much anything you can think of (within reason). The world is your oyster! And hey—we can make those too! Please contact someone from our staff if you have any questions.

Design Process & Pricing

With custom pieces, it can get a little tricky to meet the needs of the customer. Because there are so many varieties of color, different brands, and types of glass, it is important to have a design and a well written contract for any substantial piece. In our process, we can use either hard or soft glass, both of which are diverse in the styles and colors you can put in the design of your pieces. Often the soft glass colors are considered more bright and ambient but are known to be more difficult to work with, while the hard glass is easier to work with but has fewer color options.

The industry is evolving and growing every day, so we do our best to keep up with what's new and exciting. Our research team uses its extensive skills to find the answers to those tough questions you might not be able to find on your own. WE PROVIDE... YOU CREATE, that is our mission. Let us help you make the custom piece of a lifetime for you and your loved one to cherish and remind you of your most important dreams and aspirations.

ABOUT

Monumental Glass has been producing multimedia artworks for over 15 years, mainly focusing on the delicacies of hand-worked glass. We try to capture the versatility of glass within our pieces to create many different kinds of glass art, such as jewelry, cremation artwork, home décor, figurines, and much more. Located in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, our studio strives to combine the elegance of highbrow art with the gritty honesty of the craft studio. We focus not only on the technical aspects of the craft, but also on the more spiritual, meditative, and emotional qualities of the glassmaking process as a way to foster a sense of community. We hope to use our art to create a positive impact on society through community development and educational opportunities.

Charitable Work

After years of glassmaking, our team has not only created works of art but has given back to the international community by raising money for community development organizations. We have held a glass sale at the annual gala dinner fundraiser event at the Kimmel Center in New York City for ten consecutive years, raising over $20,000. This money goes towards Miracle Corners of the World, a non-profit organization that that works “to empower youth to become positive agents of change in their communities” (www.mcwglobal.org).

If you would like to find out more information on how to donate to this cause or would like to purchase a piece of in-stock or custom designed art, please give us a call at (215)-534-2451 or email us at bgrossinger@gmail.com. Feel free to browse our website and let us know if you have any questions. Brandon Grossinger is the owner of Monumental Glass as well as Grossingers Glass and has been working in the art, media, and construction industries for nearly two decades. After dropping out of high school at age fifteen, Brandon went on to pursue a career in music, construction, glass, outdoor skills, and education. To do this, he took classes at several different colleges around the eastern part of the US. For glass, he studied at Bucks County Community College, the Penland School of Crafts and the studio at the Corning Museum of Glass. He received his Wilderness First Responder at the National Outdoor Leadership School in Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado and also went to the Community College of Vermont for forest ecology and other studies. Once he had experienced all these programs had to offer, he moved on to other pursuits, including construction and charity work. Not only did he own and operate a home remodeling business for over ten years, he worked as a Community Development Consultant for Miracle Corners of the World as well as at an adjudicated and underprivelged youth center known as Youth Services Agency and Camp Adams, which he taught music and outdoor survival skills in the Philadelphia, Bucks County, and Jim Thorpe area. His work with these organizations led him to co-found Broad Street Beats (a youth program focusing on music, leadership, and outdoor skills) and The Bucks County Adventure Guides. In the past he worked as an A&R for Bungalo Records (Universal Music Group), and then moved on to start his own music label, Monumental Music Entertainment Group with various partners and organizations.

Store

We are proud to be a licensed distributor of Bethlehem Burners and would be happy to give you a live demo of one of our torches if you are interested in buying one. The staff over at Bethlehem have been a pleasure to partner with.

All Bethlehem Burner Torches are made of stainless steel and can be used for both soft and boroscilicate glass.

Please contact us here at Monumental for more information. Thank you!

The Grand

Features: stainless steel, three-stage controls

The most versatile and fuel-efficient of the burners, The Grand combines features of the Alpha, Bravo, and Champion. Its three separately controlled stages give artists' unparalleled control over the flame size, heat potential, and fuel mixture, making this this the perfect all-in-one bench burner.

The Champion

Features: stainless steel, two-stage controls

This torch features Bethelehem Burners hottest, most versatile flame. Modeled after Bethlehem's famed PM2D Bench Burner, this torch produces almost an identical flame to its predecessor. It is known for its highly oxidizing flames and gentle, even heat, which allows you to utilize an array of fuel mixtures while keeping the glass workable. This kind of flame is ideal for "...large hollow work, solid milli work, color-mixing and fine detail work with difficult colors" (www.bethlehemburners.com).

The Bravo

Features: stainless steel, two-stage controls

Bathe your piece in the penetrating flame of this dual-purpose lampworking torch. Designed with the artistic flameworker in mind, this low-pressure torch will work well with both soft and borosilicate glass, allowing you to explore the many facets of each material.

The Alpha

Features: stainless steel, one-stage controls

Affordable, convenient, and consistent, The Alpha is the ideal entry-level burner. It delivers more flow at a lower gas pressure to produce the perfect working flame, making this torch especially well-suited to glass bead artists.
